WTF are Crypto Kitties?

The latest trend in cryptocurrency is way more adorable than you’d expect: people are spending millions on CryptoKitties, virtual cats bought and sold through the Ethereum blockchain. You can buy them using a cryptocurrency called Ether (ETH) similar to Bitcoin. So far, over $3 million has been spent on these digital kittens, and the transactions are starting to clog up Ethereum’s network.
